Social Acts of Kindness: Supporting Local Businesses with Free Social Media Packages

Challenge

Supporting local businesses from afar

The pandemic has pushed us to evolve in ways we never thought imaginable. From challenges to videochats, the Edmonton community was already finding creative ways to connect on social media. As a digital agency, our team felt compelled to help local businesses make the most of the evolving online space.

Solution

A little kindness goes a long way

In response to the challenging economic environment, we formed Social Acts of Kindness, a creative social media campaign. Similar to lending a helping hand to our neighbours, we aimed to support local businesses with meaningful digital connections.

Free social media packages

Each day for one month, we ran a contest where Edmonton entrepreneurs applied for free social media training, graphics, and content. We worked with businesses across industries, including clothing designers, financial advisors, psychologists, and non-profits.

Going live

After our contest wound down, we were inspired to keep the kindness alive with weekly livestreams on Facebook. We invited passionate Edmontonians to share their perspectives on business, social media, and culture. Our guests represented diverse voices from the LGBTQ2S+, BIPOC, and entrepreneurial communities.
